Synopsis

Bestselling romance author Johanna Lindsey returns to the MALORY saga with this seventh volume. When a friend of Jeremy Malory's loses some family heirlooms in a crooked card game, Jeremy recruits the orphaned Danny, a female thief who dresses as a boy, to recover them. As a result, she loses her place with her gang, and in recompense, Jeremy hires the beautiful young woman as a maid--though he'd prefer her to be his mistress. He also grooms her to pose as a lady so that she can deflect the advances of an heiress determined to marry him. When Jeremy takes Danny out in society, they get a clue as to Danny's true identity...and put her in serious danger.
