Synopsis

This brooding, sophisticated thriller tells the story of Charlie Ravich, a beleaguered family man and traumatized Vietnam vet, and Christina Welles, an attractive ex-con with a violent mobster on her tail. Moving from Hong Kong to New York, the novel paints a disturbing picture of life in the contemporary megalopolis, and the grace with which Harrison depicts graphic violence makes him a sort of literary Sam Peckinpah.
