I was hoping to be more drawn into this book then I was. After reading the second book in this series 'Mortal Danger', I realized it was still heavily connected to the first book which I didn't read. I thought perhaps that I just didn't get a chance to develop a relationship with the characters or the story and the third book would be better. However, after reading this book, I still don't feel that 'connection'. It is still dealing in part with what happened in the first book, but not entirely. I have gotten to know the characters more, and I am still not completely taken by them. I will say, the characters are rather interesting, but there is just something missing with this series that I am just not getting. I am not sure it is me, or the series in general. I won't be reading more of this series. I'll try more from Eileen Wilks because I loved her story in 'On The Prowl' which I do recommend!
Like Angi, I'm not impressed with book 3this one or book 2, Mortal Danger, which I'm reading now. Unlike Angi, I do intend to read book 1, Tempting Danger, since references to the back story sound more interesting than what goes on here. Here's hoping that although it was not enough to maintain a series, somebody thought it was so, perhaps it will be at least a good stand alone story.
