After his father is killed by a demon inhabited bear, a boy, a wolf guide, and his female friend, set out to find the earth spirit and destroy the deadly creature. A pretty good listen, though the best parts are when the narrative is focalized through the wolf. If only the entire book was like that or there was more there. Clearly part of a series, but finds decent closure for the main plot.
