DEATH ON A PLATTER is the first book I have ever read by Elaine Viets so I felt like I was coming late to the party and have missed a lot! She writes a good cozy with a mystery shopper as her sleuth. What I really appreciated about the book is that it was more than a mystery story. Ms Viets took the time to educate us on the culinary delights of St Louis. .I learned about their particular style of pizza and the best places for chocolate and that there is such a thing as toasted ravioli! h sounds interesting but I personally draw the line at pigs ears and cow brain sandwiches! I dont even like liver so how am I going to eat a brain? She includes shopping tips in the back for the restaurants in St Louis too and added more details about them. Also noted which ones have websites and I am going to look into the chocolate ones. Yummy! A totally fun and informative novel! I love it when a writer can entertain me and educate me too! And I plan on reading more of her work!.
