Synopsis

In the year 2062, Jenny Casey is a scarred and bitter veteran of the wars that have ravaged Earth. Quebecois by birth, this former member of the Canadian army is now living out her retirement--such as it is--in West Hartford, Connecticut, hiding her true identity under the street name of Maker. She is also pushing 50, and wired to a truly ancient piece of tech: her left arm. A helicopter crash a quarter-century before made her the first recipient of what was then a cutting-edge prosthesis, fully wired into her nervous system. But she is now the only such recipient still alive--and no one has much hope for her continued survival. But when a drug created in secret for the Canadian military shows up on the streets of West Hartford and starts killing young kids, Jenny finds herself drawn into a web of corruption and scandal that reaches higher than she had ever anticipated--and with much greater stakes. With the aid of the man she has loved in secret for the last 24 years, Jenny must attempt to unravel this web of lies and half-truths to discover just what the Canadian government has hidden behind a seemingly innocuous VR program.
