The war against Voldemort is not going well; even the Muggles have been affected. Dumbledore is absent from Hogwarts for long stretches of time, and the Order of the Phoenix has already suffered losses. And yet . . . As with all wars, life goes on. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Harry receives some extraordinary help in Potions from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince. And with Dumbledore’s guidance, he seeks out the full, complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort -- and thus finds what may be his only vulnerability.

I'm sure that many of you have already read this book. It's not as good, or as fast paced as the 4th and 5th books, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I had re-read the earlier books and then read this, all in a row, so I got the full Harry Potter experience. I just can't believe the ending. Seriously, I'm still deciding on whether to believe it, or if it's a trick...
amazing
As a man in my late 50's, I had heard all the hoopla about Harry Potter and just shook my head. But then, someone loaned me an audiobook of Goblet of Fire and I was hooked. I immediately got my hands on the whole series, and listened in order. It took less than 2 weeks for all 6 books. I just couldn't put the mp3 player down! I could not recommend this series more highly. I have never heard Jim Dale, the ones I found were read by Stephen Fry. But no matter. It would be hard for anyone to mess up this amazing series of books! I actually joined Booksfree just to get the 7th book, as I could not find it used anywhere, and wasn't going to pay 50 bucks for it!
