Synopsis

: On the cusp of winter, botanist Lorrah Gilden from the Estros seeks out the reclusive Tate to serve as her guide.

Lorrah is convinced that the Missourose lies somewhere in the mountains surrounding Tate's home. The Missourose, fabled to have miraculous powers. If it exists.

For Tatum, late autumn means only one thing — her energy is sorely limited. And Tatum has a secret she intends to keep at all costs, yet it's only a matter of weeks, perhaps even days, until her true nature will begin to emerge.

Tatum's desire to keep her secret makes her a reluctant companion at best, but Lorrah's optimism proves contagious, as does her dedication to find the Missourose.
