Synopsis

Fans of strong, supernaturally talented women should look no further than Carrie Vaughn’s debut, KITTY AND THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. When Denver DJ and werewolf Kitty Norville launches a successful late-night talk show focusing on werewolves and vampires, most of the local creatures of the night aren’t very happy about her exposure of their existence. Supported by her fans and a mysterious source who claims the government is secretly studying supernatural creatures, Kitty struggles to stay alive and keep her ratings up while confronting threats from her pack leader, the head of the local vampire Family, fundamentalists, and a bounty hunter specializing in lycanthropes.

I really thought this book was a nice light read with dark elements. I loved how Kitty goes from weak and scared to strong and confident. Kitty no longer settled for the beat me/love relationship that the Alpha inflicts on her to become a more independent woman who realizes that she doesn't have to be with the pack to feel safe. I like this book mostly because it didn't have the typical happy ending but yet you felt satisifed with it.
