When a meteor pushes the moon closer to the earth, setting into motion a series of destructive weather events that wipe out coasts, rock the continents, and block out the sun, Miranda and her family must find a way to survive in a desperate and unfamiliar world. Simultaneous.
Life as We Knew It is a good book. You can feel the tension. While it doesn't deal with all issues, it handles some of them and makes it interesting. Makes you thoughtful. But Emily Bauer, the narrator, is far too perky and happy sounding. It's the end of the world and her narrative style doesn't mesh with the story's content. She'd be great for the Princess Diaries, but not Ffeffer's end-of-the-world novel.
