Synopsis

More Questions than Answers? is a true crime story about a murdered son who received no justice because of illegal Police action. The collapse of the trial of five defendants for the murder of Mark Corley in 2002 was as a direct result of detectives based on the Lincolnshire Police force having bugged the defendants' private conversations with their solicitors. When this came to light at the trial in 2002, the judge halted the trial, saying that the Police had committed flagrant breaches of the law. But the detectives on the case were not charged, just disciplined for their wrong-doing. Meanwhile, the five defendants were freed under the Human Rights Act, and as a result, no-one has been convicted for the murder of Mark Corley. In this moving book, Mark's father Tony Corley looks back at the events that led up to this miscarriage of justice - from the moment he first heard that his son had been murdered, through the way the Police handled the case, up to the trial and the fiasco that ensued. He also looks at the impact that the events of the last eight years have had on him and the rest of his family - not only from the loss of a much-loved son under such violent circumstances, but from the way that the case was mishandled by the very authorities that are supposed to protect us.
