Synopsis

A hunt for a killer and a case of mistaken identity lead to some dangerous role-playing in this chick-lit novel. In the course of investigating a murder case, NYPD detective Joe mistakenly phones psychologist Marlowe, believing her to be a call girl. Starved for affection and needing some spicy anecdotes to make her dissertation more publishable, she allows Joe to continue to believe it. On this basis, the two begin a somewhat unusual relationship, mixing sex with attempts on the part of each to pry information out of the other.
