Mystery author Cornwell reportedly spent a small fortune in pursuing her own investigation into the infamous Jack the Ripper case. Here, she presents what she believes to be new evidence in the crimes and offers her own solution to what is arguably the most famous unsolved crime in the world.
Alot of evidence is shown to prove her point and theories. Although not all the murders in this book were proved to be directly connected to the Ripper, she admits that they may or MAY NOT be related and gives you explanations and examples to support her suggestions. As for grafics... her descriptions gave you a vivid image of the victims situations and not only that, but an idea of the life they lived. You would think that she was one of the investigators at that time by how well she put various statements together to form a story with a relatively accurate timeline based on what she knows from the police reports. She also points to the flaws in the investigations. She also picks through her Suspects head very well in search for a motive or psychiatric/psychological condition that may have caused this short lived but horrible blood bath that tainted the history of Scotland Yard. She is a well experienced person and if anyone could have written this book it was her, due to her years in criminal investigation.
I have been morbidly fascinated by the history of Jack the Ripper since I was a teenager. This book finally makes a very good case on who the infamous murderer really was. I believe with the evidence in this book if the crimes took place today Saucy Jack would be rotting in prison. This is a great read for anyone who wants facts and details and some first rate detective work. If you're just looking for a sensational retaling of the story, look else where.
