Sweetbriar tells the story of Linnet Tyler and her on-again, off-again romance with Devon Mac Macalister in late eighteenth century Kentucky. Linnet is trusting, one to put others ahead of herself, and thinks well of most everyone. Devon is slow to find the good in others and does not trust women. I really enjoy reading a book by Jude Deveraux. My favorites are her historical romance novels and Sweetbriar is one of the best. Action, adventure, romance and the descriptive characters, both good and evil, made me want to continue until the last page was turned.
