Synopsis

Determined to become Charleston's next district attorney, southern gentleman Hammond Cross jumps when he is called upon to prosecute the highly publicized murder of local real estate tycoon Lute Pettijohn. Little does Hammond know, however, that his ticket to the top may come at an impossible price. While a host of people, including his best friend, are busily plotting his downfall, the woman he loves happens to be his prime suspect in the murder trial. Hammond must now choose between love and justice--and then cope with the murderous consequences.
