Synopsis

This wacky, edgy thriller takes place during one uncomfortably hot weekend in August 1985, at a trailer park community near Jacksonville, Florida. When his stepfather refuses to pay for Columbia University tuition, Lem Altick resorts to selling encyclopedias door to door to earn the money he needs. Lem is on the verge of completing a sale when an animal rights activist bursts in, kills the two customers, and forces Lem to become complicit in the murder, inadvertently thrusting the young man into the center of a bizarre conspiracy involving his employers, a speed trap, a corrupt police chief, a hidden drug lab, and a seriously unhygienic hog farm.
