The Ghost Orchid is a little bit of everything all rolled into one. It's an exciting ghost story, murder mystery, and historical information. Ms. Goodman is an intelligent writer and it shows in all of her books. She doesn't make her plots easy to figure out, and her characters are typically quite memorable. This is my favorite book of hers, so far.
