Synopsis

In this literary thriller, a 31-year-old woman is struck by a car and left with no memory of the last three years--including the tense relationship with her lover, who she believed was dangerously obsessive. Now he takes advantage of her memory loss and tries to control her life. The other characters include her sister, who is plagued by her own memories that she wishes she could forget, and a depressed African-American Stanford graduate working as a roofer.
