When you dance with demons, you lay your soul on the line . . .
In the Hollows, where the natural and the supernatural co-exist—not always peacefully—desperate times often call for unorthodox measures. But bounty hunter-witch Rachel Morgan did the absolutely unthinkable to save the lives of her friends: she willingly trafficked in forbidden demon magic. And now her sins have come home to haunt her.
As Rachel hunts for the truth behind a terrifying murder, the discovery of a shocking family secret is about to throw her entire life into question. And the long-lost ancient knowledge she seeks resides in the demonic ever-after.
But there are some lines that should never be crossed—like the one Rachel Morgan's stepping over . . . again!
I love reading this type of book but it seems that every author in this area must not be able to finish anything! There is nothing new here, Ivy and Rachel still are uncomfortable with each other. They try to do the give blood without sex thing again and unusual thing happens and is never talked about again except in the normal, uncomfortable way. What was it, why did it happen, what does it mean to them--you never find out. You do get to meet Rachels mom, and the thing you find out about her family tree is a surprise but you never get the full story there eihter. You are left with more questions and frustrated that here is another problem that you don't understand and does not get resolved. Rachel is still in the never ending fight with Al,Minnis and the rest of the demons and it ends up with her being more tied to them than she ever was therefore dragging it out even longer with no resolutin in sight. Also Rachel and Ivy are trying to figure out who killed Kisten but is only about a page in total and it is not resolved either. Kim writes good stories but don't read this expecting to get your answers to any questions because you be left in total frustation!
