As the date of Sophie's wedding draws near, Beth realizes some mysterious shadow from the past seems to haunt the bride and groom. The elderly woman, suffering from memory loss, may hold the key. Beth turns to Sir Marius for help, but her efforts are thwarted at every turn as she encounters a most unlikely villain-while her only ally seems to have his mind set more on romance than the danger at hand...

This book apparently needs to be read immediately after theLord Wrayborne book, so the characters and first half of the plot are still fresh in your mind. I read theStanforth Bride and Emily and the Dark Angel in between. The characters and backstory seemed familiar, but only vaguely. A lot of Who? What? Huh? going on as I read this one. The books all make a series, but really need to be read in order. Definitely not a stand alone book.
