Rent The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percey Parker

I had been eagerly looking forward to reading this novel because of its positive reviews but was sadly disappointed with the actual experience. Yes, it's a love story with rich Victorian settings and an interesting mythology. But Hieber provides so much foreshadowing and so much wallowing in the emotions of her characters that the last third of the book is totally unnecessary. Readers already know exactly what will happen. I was also exasperated with poor, pitiful, helpless Percy who desperately needs to get a life of her own.
