Raised amidst the confines of Iranian society, young Tamila Soroush escapes the oppression of Iran for the freedom of America, enjoying her everyday acts of rebellion against her background and capturing her new life through the lens of her camera, all the while searching for a husband who can prevent her return home. Original.
I rarely write a review for any book - having a disability makes typing difficult. This lets you know how special this book is. Fabulously written, it feels so real that you can't help but feel it is a first person account of a powerful experience of the first taste of freedom. Deeply moving on so many levels...I laughed and cried, but most of all this book continually made me cherish the freedom we have as women in the United States.
